The construction industry is wrought with coordination issues that are beyond the drawings typically received as PDFs. Issues like these are best solved three dimensionally but this is technically challenging since it would require the measuring and modelling of reality to compare against the design intent models. Overlaying digitized reality (termed “reality capture”) over a 3D depiction of the project has only recently been adopted by the industry and has contributed significantly to reaching the ultimate goal of executing a project as close to perfection as possible.
