In this session, you’ll learn how powerful perspective-taking is in improving workplace culture and how virtual reality is teaching people how to build their “empathy muscle” and use perspective-taking as a tool. We’ll dip into research that shows perspective-taking’s effectiveness in reducing expressions of bias, boosting creativity among teams, strengthening leadership skills, and improving outcomes in conflict resolution. Then, we’ll learn about what makes perspective-taking “in real life” difficult for people to engage in and how perspective-taking in VR can overcome these challenges.  Finally, we’ll explore a powerful framework that teaches people how to engage in perspective-taking at any time to increase positive outcomes and enrich workplace cultures. You’ll leave the session understanding the impact of perspective-taking in VR—and having a personal perspective-taking framework that helps you use the power of virtual reality without the headset.   Key Takeaways:  1. How perspective-taking is effective in reducing expressions of bias, boosting creativity among teams, strengthening leadership skills, and improving outcomes in conflict resolution.    2. Why perspective-taking “in real life” is challenging for people to engage in at work.  3. How perspective-taking in VR overcomes these challenges to deliver powerful impact that changes behavior.  4. What perspective-taking experiences companies are using to create empathy and behavior change.  5. How to extend the power of VR to teach personal perspective-taking frameworks.
